Electronic cigarettes, also known as e-cigarettes, are mainly used to quit smoking and replace cigarettes. It has the same appearance as cigarettes, a taste similar to cigarettes, and even has much more flavor than regular cigarettes. It can also smoke out, smell out, and feel like cigarettes.
Electronic cigarettes do not contain other harmful ingredients such as tar and suspended particles in cigarettes, and manufacturers also believe that electronic cigarettes do not contain diffuse or convoluted second-hand smoke. But some studies suggest that e-cigarettes still have second-hand smoke. Due to the lack of systematic clinical experimental data support for e-cigarettes, some countries have determined that e-cigarettes are illegal, while others have determined that e-cigarettes must meet drug standards in order to be sold as smoking cessation drugs.
In March 2014, Los Angeles decided to ban e-cigarettes in some public places, a restriction that had previously appeared in New York and Chicago.
